Originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia, Dr. Burk attended the University of Virginia graduating with highest distinction and induction into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree at Duke University and general surgery training at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed the five-year surgery program and was selected as the Outstanding Teaching Resident during his chief year. He also has completed a two year plastic surgery residency at the University of Alabama -Birmingham with Dr. Luis Vasconez, with an emphasis on aesthetic and endoscopic plastic surgery.
Dr. Burk has extensive training in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He has published numerous scientific articles and has given lectures on various plastic surgery topics. He frequently attends national and international surgical educational conferences allowing him to constantly provide state-of-the-art surgical techniques to you.
Dr. Burk is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the Florida Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Florida Medical Association, the Duval County Medical Society and the Greater Jacksonville Society of Plastic Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Burk is a Clinical Professor in the University of Florida Division of Plastic Surgery. He also has been voted by the readers of the Ponte Vedra Recorder as the Beaches “Best Plastic Surgeon”.
Dr. Burk along with his wife, Nancy, four sons and daughter reside in Ponte Vedra Beach.
