Dr. Rumsey specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and body, with a special interest in face lifts, breast surgery and abdominoplasty.

Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dr. Rumsey entered private practice in 1993. A year later, with a staff of only three, he founded Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery. As the Beaches’ area first full-time plastic surgeon, Dr. Rumsey’s goal was to bring top quality cosmetic surgery to one of Jacksonville’s fastest growing communities.  Adhering to a philosophy of treating patients the way we would treat our own families, Dr. Rumsey built Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery on a firm foundation of absolute safety, cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art facilities and the most highly trained staff. The results speak for themselves. Over the past years, Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery has added three distinguished surgeons and become firmly established as the region’s leading plastic surgery practice.

Dr. Rumsey is a 1986 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed seven years of surgical training, including three years of plastic surgery residency and fellowship, at the University of Florida and the University of Tennessee. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He currently serves as an officer of the Greater Jacksonville Society of Plastic Surgeons and as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1995.

Dr. Rumsey’s primary clinical interests include facelifts, abdominoplasty and breast surgery.

He resides in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife and three children.
