What is a Mommy Makeover?
The mommy makeover combines body contouring procedures such as arm lift, thigh lift, and liposuction surgeries with cosmetic breast surgery to create an improved overall physical appearance — all at the same time. A mommy makeover can address:
- Loose or sagging skin on the abdomen
- Stubborn love handles and fat left over from pregnancy
- Drooping breasts that have lost volume
- Abdominal bulge
- Separated or weak abdominal muscles
- Stretch marks
Mommy Makeover Procedure Details
All mommy makeovers are performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility. Depending on how many techniques are combined, the surgery varies in time from 2-4 hours. It is common for patients to have an overnight stay on site with this surgery. Most women will require a full month to recover, but many will be able to return to work within two weeks.
The Mommy Makeover: Customized to Meet Your Needs
One of the best things about the mommy makeover procedure is that it can be uniquely tailored to your specific needs and goals, depending on what body parts you want to improve. In most cases, surgery for the breasts and tummy are performed together (though not always). The conditions addressed during surgery and the surgical technique used will vary.
Breasts
- Conditions caused by pregnancy: Loss of volume and/or breast tissue; sagging and/or drooping, excess skin (ptosis); breasts that have become too large
- Surgeries to consider: Breast augmentation with implants, breast lift, breast augmentation with a lift, breast reduction surgery
Abdomen
- Conditions caused by pregnancy: Excess fat and/or persistent bulge in the abdomen; sagging and loose skin; stretch marks, and other unsightly skin irregularities
- Surgeries to consider: Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction of the abdomen
Lower Body
- Conditions caused by pregnancy: Sagging skin and excess fat in the buttocks, hips, and thighs

Dr. Hollie Hickman is a board-certified Northeast Florida plastic surgeon who provides a variety of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures.
Dr. Hickman not only provides stellar results for her patients — she also takes an educational approach where she informs them as much as possible. She also takes a holistic approach where she focuses on the patient’s physical, emotional, and social transformation. Dr. Christopher Bates
Dr. Bates has had the honor of practicing plastic surgery on all three coasts. He utilizes the different ideas and techniques that he’s learned along the way to bring the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art, and — most importantly — safe plastic surgery to his patients. One of Dr. Bates’s greatest attributes that patients comment on is his bedside manner. Talented and gifted, Dr. Erez Sternberg is a double board-certified Northeast Florida plastic surgeon who offers a wide variety of cosmetic surgeries.
Specializing in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Sternberg has a special interest in complex breast revision cases, repairing problems with previous breast surgery and botched surgeries administered elsewhere. Patients unhappy with their results from another doctor travel to see him for their revision surgery. He also has extensive expertise in body contouring techniques. Dr. Sternberg places a special emphasis on patients who have gone through significant weight loss.
