The Morpheus8 device combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with custom microneedling to trigger natural skin regeneration from within. The needling device was developed to penetrate the skin layers more deeply, coupled with RF energy to heat the inner skin layers causing old, stretched collagen fibers to break down. The skin reacts to the process by building new, fresh collagen, creating a network of connective strands that restore, support, and rejuvenate the skin – on the face, neck, decolletage, and any other body area.

How does Ultherapy work?

Rather than RF energy, the Ultherapy device uses “micro-focused ultrasound” energy, which also causes a thermal effect, heating the inner skin layers to trigger collagen production. The device does not disrupt the skin’s surface and involves no chemicals or other substances, restoring the skin on the face and decolletage by triggering natural skin regeneration. However, this device is not appropriate for skin rejuvenation for the whole body.

Which is better, Morpheus8 or Ultherapy?

The recovery time after treatment may be slightly longer with a Morpheus8 skin tightening treatment, as it involves microneedling, resulting in minor pinpoint skin injuries. However, the needling device has such slim, tiny needles that this side effect disappears in about 24 hours in most cases. Ultherapy does not involve a significant recovery time, but swelling and tenderness can linger for several weeks following the treatment. The results of an Ultherapy treatment will take weeks or months to appear and are often minor improvements.
