What Is SculpSure?

SculpSure helps you safely reduce stubborn fat in problem areas with a treatment plan that is customized to your desired results. SculpSure is an FDA approved diode laser that generates optical energy to the body’s subcutaneous tissue layers or the layer of tissue under the skin. The FDA approves this treatment for the back, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, and flanks (waist.) A cooling component is used to keep the skin comfortable as the laser passes over the skin. Treatments are 25 minutes long and can be repeated in six weeks. 

SculpSure works by targeting the subcutaneous fat cells and causing damage to the cell membrane, resulting in the destruction of the fat cell. This action triggers the body’s immune system to come in and remove the debris, which is carried out of the body through waste. Up to 24% of fat cells are destroyed with each treatment. Patients can expect to see results over 6-12 weeks. 

What can a patient expect during treatment?

Most patients report mild discomfort during the treatment. The treated areas may be sore for 1-2 weeks. Some patients experience mild redness and swelling at the treatment site as well. Occasionally, nodules can be felt in the areas, but this is temporary and will dissipate with time. Following treatment, patients will need to increase their water intake to 64 ounces a day. This is to ensure adequate hydration so that the lymph system can function properly. Also, it is recommended to massage the treated area between 5-10 minutes a day.

The ideal SculpSure patient lives a healthy lifestyle that enables them to maintain a lower body/ mass index under 30. This includes a health-conscious diet and routine exercise. SculpSure is not for weight loss, but it is an ideal non-invasive therapy for contour improvement. 

Can I expect any downtime? 

There is no downtime after the treatment, and patients can return to their normal activities right after the procedure, including exercise. However, if the patient is experiencing moderate soreness, they may want to refrain from high-intensity workouts for 24-48 hours following the SculpSure treatment.
