I'm 35 yrs old, 5'5 and 130 pounds. This site has helped me so much so I want to share my experience. The 3D imaging and sizers in the office helped to pick the size but ultimately I trusted Dr. Hickman at the moment to give me natural-looking and proportionate implants. Aside from my wishlist, my mindset was that I didn't want to go too big and hate them but if they came out too small they would still be more than I had. I debated between the idea of saline and that I could just leave them until something went wrong but ultimately agreed to go silicone as the office shared how natural they felt. I knew I would be most comfortable with my decision with having implants that felt like they had always been there. Dr. Hickman and the entire team at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery were friendly, relaxed, professional, and attentive. "I have been wanting to have a breast reduction and lift for 25 years but I was too afraid. I had never had surgery before. But I woke up one morning in September 2019 OVER my 34G breasts. I was over the backaches, poor posture, having to wear a bra with my bathing suit, not being able to wear cute dresses or jog. I was just over them! Because we have used PVPS for other minor services, my search for a surgeon began there. Dr. Hickman was recommended. I looked at several other local surgeons but kept coming back to her. BEST decision I’ve ever made! I had my consultation in February 2020, and my surgery was scheduled for April. Because of COVID, it kept getting pushed back, but on May 15, 2020, just days after elective surgery’s were once again allowed, it finally happened! I was told that Dr. Hickman was amazing with breast jobs, so I scheduled my consultation with her. My consultation was in February, 2020 just before covid. We did get insurance approval (I was going from a 34G to a 34D) and my surgery was scheduled. I am 6 months post op now, my scars are barely visible, and my breasts look amazing! Now I can wear bathing suits without a bra under, I can wear sundresses without having to wear a harness underneath. I can jog!! Jog!!!! I could never do that before! Please make sure you have someone there to open your medications for you, and make sure you have plenty of clothes that either button up or you can slide up over your hips.Updated on 26 May 2020:My right boob doesn’t hurt at all, my left boob is still sore. (Left tit was the weakling during breastfeeding also) The worst part is the tightness, I took my bra off to shower and I just felt like my implant was going to fall out, it was just strange not having them supported in the bra. I have a little bruising around the incisions today, and the pain is still just uncomfortable. I have more movement in me arms today which is cool. I also noticed that I can’t feel my left nipple, like all the feeling in the left tit is gone. The right is just fine and I so hope the feeling comes back soon. Updated on 28 May 2020:I had my first post op appointment yesterday. Dr. Hickman wants me to not wear a bra for a few days, and on Monday I will start wearing the strap. I haven’t noticed any little sort of dropping, but the bruising at my incisions look significantly better. No real pain today, just a little uncomfortable and like muscle tightness in one boob. Updated on 2 Jun 2020:On the 7th day post op the lymph nodes in my armpits started swelling, and on the 8th day they became incredibly painful. Moving my arms, putting on DO, and shaving were difficult. Things were fine up until that point and I had to start taking ibuprofen for the pain. My left boob and nipple were still really sore, like a burning sensation. I had no fever and my incisions looked fine so I just waited until Monday (10 days post) to talk to my PS about my concerns. She said my left incision was a little irritated and the severity of the lymph nodes in my left armpit were a little concerning, so she put me on an antibiotic just in case there’s any infection. I’ll post a picture of the swollen lymph nodes, I haven’t been able to shave so the armpit looks gross, every red spot is a swollen lymph node. Today I’m 11 days post op and they’re still so high, my PS gave me instructions to start massaging them. I’m super impatient and ready for the drop and fluff to happen. Updated on 3 Jun 2020:I had a follow up appointment today for the possible infection. On Monday Dr. Hickman only put me on the antibiotic as a precaution, today she said everything looks great and she doesn’t think I have an infection. The tapes over my incisions were removed today too. Updated on 11 Jun 2020:Just thought I’d drop a two week post op comparison pic. I was writing you in reference to your post awhile ago about shopping PVPS before you started there. I wanted to let you know about my experience and the positiveness I have seen.
I became a patient of Dr. Hickman's as her practice was merging with PVPS. I have seen the difference full circle. The front desk staff doesn't have to worry about the phones while helping a patient, I like the convenience of confirming my appointment via text. I recently had my 5th (and hopefully last) surgery 4 weeks ago. I joked with the nurses and said is it bad I recognize you have new gowns back here? We got a laugh out of that. The surgical nurses always make you feel at ease when you go in and that makes it very comforting.
You have a phenomenal staff both at Baymeadows & Ponte Vedra. I have seen 3 other dr's for an emergency when Dr. Hickman was not available and you would of never known I wasn't their patient. As a patient that is very comforting. God was looking out for me when I was referred to Dr. Hickman after being diagnosed with breast cancer. "31 Year Old Mother of Two Finally Gets Her Tummy Tuck - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - Wonderful wonderful people and place - - After giving birth to my "irish" twins I was left with a very bad over hanging belly. I decided to hire a personal trainer, and with him I lost 70 pounds. You would think that made me feel better. NOPE! The hanging skin looked evern worse. I was so depressed and starTed putting the weight back on. After my husband suggested the TT did I really believe there was hope. "Finally big Boobies! - Jacksonville, FL - Dr. Hickman is amazing I knew I wanted a female doctor from the start and she has been absolutely amazing from day one. I have Constricted Breast Syndrome and the left is a little tuberous, my right breast is smaller than my left. Have a slight droop to my chest. I have always wanted to go through with this surgery, but didn't know when the right time was or if I had the guts to go through with it. I never want to wear another pushup bra again. I plan on donating them or just throwing them away. I have found a wonderful female PS and I really trust her with my body. I do feel like she knows exactly what I am thinking and what she can do for me and my situation. All her work looks so real and amazing. I am getting silicone gel "Gummy Bear" implants and going under the muscle I have a pretty small B and can fit into most AA's and a 34B. My incision is under the breast. I am going for a natural look but perky. Over all I love my body. I love my legs, hips, torso, but my chest doesn't match my body at all. I plan on going B to D.Im scared. Horrified but I know I want to do this. 8 days until my surgery. Nervous and excited all at the same time. I am very scared of the pain afterwards. I do not feel like the pain medication that I was given will be enough. I have heard that it feels like being hit by a bus. I keep reading the forums and worth it ratings on this site and it helps but I think I am getting worked up over nothing. This site it great and I am so glad I found it.Can over doing it after surgery affect your healing time? I plan on sleeping a lot and reading books while I heal but 4 days after surgery I have to work for two days at my office. I will be doing a lot of typing. Can just walking or typing too much effect my healing? Is that stupid of me to ask that question? I am also concerned that my boobs will be so high on my chest that they look abnormal....nervous about this as well. Another issue...naturally my aerola (color around my nipple) is bigger on one side than the other. Its not by much but it is noticeable to me. Can I have my PS fix this issue? Thats something I need to talk to her when I see her next.I had my pre op consult on the 29th of Nov.
