Our board-certified surgeons at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery often perform thigh lift surgery to correct sagging, crepey skin that is taking away from the natural beauty of the thighs. Besides sagging and crepiness, a thigh lift can address cellulite, wrinkles, and “saddlebags”.
Get Excited to Show Some Skin
Different life circumstances mean different reasons for developing sagging and/or crepey skin on the thighs. This issue typically occurs with age or significant weight loss, but it can also come after pregnancy, or even in the aftermath of a different surgery. A thigh lift is often the best option for addressing this problem, as this procedure decreases the excess skin and fat, delivering a smoother, tighter, more attractive look for the thighs and overall legs.
What Does a Thigh Lift Do?

Different Techniques for a Thigh Lift
All thigh lift procedures are performed at an accredited surgical center with the patient under general anesthesia. There are multiple techniques for a thigh lift, and the right one for your individual case will be determined at your consultation. After evaluating your skin and listening closely to your personal aesthetic goals, your surgeon will determine the right method for you. In some cases, a combination of these techniques will be used.
Vertical Thigh Lift
During a vertical thigh lift, your surgeon will create an incision within the crease of the groin. This incision will run along the inside of the thigh. This type of thigh lift is done to improve the appearance of the inner thighs and the knees.
Outer/Lateral Thigh Lift
During an outer/lateral thigh lift, your surgeon will create an incision that goes completely around the entirety of the waist. This method improves the appearance of the upper area of the outer thighs.
Medial/Inner Thigh Lift
During a medial/inner thigh lift, your surgeon will create an incision that is made in the crease of the groin and reaches to the crease of the buttocks. This type of thigh lift is designed to tighten the skin and remove excess sagging skin of the upper inner thigh.
